Christmas with Colton

Celebrating Christmas with Colton was one of the most fun things I've ever done - and he's still pretty little! I am looking forward to the next few years, when he thinks that Christmas is magic and enjoys every little thing about it. Celebrating Christmas with kids is amazing!

I like to look back at pictures to see how Colton has changed. It's so hard to believe that just one year ago he was so small, still so unaware! When we celebrated Christmas last year Colton was just 12 weeks old.

This time, Colton was just barely 15 months old. He's no longer an unaware baby but a wide-eyed, curious, and fun toddler. :o)

This is Colton on Christmas Eve. He wore PJ's that said, "Dear Santa, I can explain..." and some friends of ours accessorized him with this perfectly coordinating scarf!

Christmas Day was a blast. We're still not sure exactly how we'll incorporate Santa into our Christmas celebrations as Colton grows - we want to enjoy that magic with him while, somehow, keeping Christ at the center of our celebration - but this year we didn't have to worry about it. Santa, the gifts - none of it really means anything to Colton. He did, however, get caught up in our excitement and enjoyed the morning.

A look under our tree after Santa visited!

A closer view.

Colton ran right to his new little table and grabbed the jar of play-dough. He has no idea what it is, but he was excited about it! :o)

Next Colton grabbed his new bulldog....stuffed animal! He immediately gave it hugs and kisses, like he does with most every stuffed animal he sees. He also makes some very sweet, "Goo goo, gaa gaaaaaa!" sounds to show his affection for them. It's adorable.

Happy boy.

Along with his table, bulldog, play-dough, tent (pictured above), and a few other small gifts - Colton got a tunnel! We thought this would be a fun toy for the winter, when we're often trapped indoors due to bad weather. We got some great pictures of him crawling through it for the first time!

What sweet funny faces! :o)

Even in all the excitement, Colton made time to pose with mommy. I love that little boy!!!

We also took video on Christmas morning - about 10 minutes worth. Hopefully we'll get it edited soon so we can post it here, too!
In the meantime, please be praying for Ross and Colton. Both have some sort of little bug, and neither of them are eating or drinking much. I'm praying it doesn't turn into anything serious and that they both feel better very soon. Also, I'm praying that I don't get sick, too!

Merry Christmas friends and family. We missed you all so much and hope you're Christmases were fabulous.

Love from Ross, Lindsay, & Colton!
